Want to get better at chess? Start here!
Northwich Junior Chess Club is a dedicated not-for-profit organization staffed by enthusiastic volunteers, with the primary goal of promoting and popularizing chess among school-age children in the Northwich area.
There are numerous compelling reasons why engaging your children in chess can be highly beneficial. Through the game, kids can actively enhance and develop essential cognitive skills such as memory retention, logical thinking, critical reasoning, concentration, problem-solving abilities, and visual processing.
Whether your child is a beginner seeking to learn the basics of chess or an advanced player looking to further refine their skills, our weekly chess sessions cater to both levels. These sessions are expertly led by Richard Betts, a seasoned member of the Northwich Chess Club.
Our engaging sessions strike a balance between instruction and friendly gameplay, allowing participants to learn new strategies while enjoying matches with fellow club members.
We warmly invite you to join us every Saturday morning, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, at Victoria Road Primary School in Northwich, Cheshire. It is the perfect opportunity for your children to embark on an exciting chess journey in a welcoming and supportive environment.
